Boone County Human Services Council Hosts Annual ‘Feel the Love’ Food Drive
The Boone County Human Services Council is inviting the public to participate in the annual 'Feel the Love' food drive initiative this February. From February 3rd through 7th to benefit Boone IMPACT Community Action, Boone Salvation Army, and Boone DMACC food pantries that serve the citizens of Boone County.

According to IMPACT’s Boone County Coordinator Amber Ahrens, “We see a drop in donations during February through April. The community is always supportive during the holidays, but those donations tend to run out in late
winter and early spring.” The pantries’ most needed items are meals (canned stew, chili, soup), tuna and canned meat, peanut butter, low sugar cereals, 100% fruit juices, canned fruit packed in juice and low salt canned vegetables.
Non-perishable food items and/or cash donations will be accepted at the following locations during the drive: Boone County DHS Building, Boone County Probation and YSS office, DMACC Business office, Heart of Iowa Habitat for Humanity, ISU Extension and Outreach of Boone County.
